Rule 1: Prepare yourself on the following topics; Just brush up your basics: ages, percentages, ratio and proportion, numbers, time and distance, sequence, time and work, probability, permutation and combination & blood relation. {Here probability and per/com is optional because it carries only 3-4 questions on it.}

Rule 2: Go through the previous papers in fresher world of this test. I have also giving you some relevant questions which appeared in our test.

Rule 3: Try to solve the questions by yourself; don't memorize them because data will be change

Rule 4: Try to just interchange the data of the questions and solve them faster and faster. The Time Management is a important skill often tested in aptitude test. So by practicing the questions given below try to develop speed and accuracy.

Rule 5: Speed reading is a important part of this test as all the questions do have some irrelevant data. So in these 3 days of preparation, try to find the relevant data from the question and read very fast.

Tricks for aptitude test:

1) You will be asked to answer 35 questions in 60 minutes. At the beginning, don’t even think to answer all questions.

2) Just go through all the 35 questions and solve the easy ones. Every paper consists of minimum 15-17 easy questions and rest of them moderately difficult.

3) Try to answer the easy ones 15-16 questions out of 35 within 45 mins and also write the individual number of moderately easy ones or mark them [that u think can do within 3-4 mins ] in the scratch paper

4) Last 12-15 mins of the exam, try to solve the marked ones, at least of 5 them.

5) The difference between you and others will lay answering marked ones, so try to solve the easy 15-16 as fast as you can. [Caution: you try to believe that u can acquire 100% accuracy in easy questions; so complete the easy questions of entire range question number 1 to 35 within 40-45 mins.]

5) So after the time is completed, you will find yourself answering 22-24 questions without any rigorous preparation. Those who r a bit slower in calculations can also clear this test by my plan. And cut off, as I already mentioned, lies below 20 around 18-19.

6) Last but not the least, don't try to mark the questions you are not absolutely sure; as the paper consists of negative marking, you will not be able to meet the cutoff.

London, Nov 08 (ANI): Wonder how much of personal information is fine on Facebook? Well, an expert tells you the dos and don'ts of being a part of the social networking giant.

Dave Whitelegg said that although Facebook is a fun way to keep in touch with friends and family, it can also be dangerous.

"Posting certain photos or information on the site puts you at risk of being fired, a victim of crime, or even worse. There are computer programmes called 'data mining' that sweep Facebook to collect dates of birth, phone numbers, addresses etc. That's gold dust to criminals," the Sun quoted Whitelegg, an IT security expert, as saying.

Here are the 10 things you should never post on Facebook and why.

Date and place of birth- This places you at massive risk of identity theft. They are the most commonly used security questions on password resetting sites.

Mother's maiden name-A lot of sites use your mother's maiden name to authenticate who you are. They also commonly use the school you went to as a security question.

Address- It again puts you at risk from identity fraud, but also from burglars and stalkers.

Holidays-If you post an update on Facebook saying: "Can't wait till next Wednesday - two weeks in Miami yeh!" you are basically saying: "Come and rob me."

Short trips from home-Again, this can put you at risk of burglary and stalking.

Inappropriate photos- Don't post racy, illicit, offensive or incriminating photos. Bosses and prospective employers are increasingly looking at Facebook pages.

Confessionals-These can also get you fired or haunt you for the rest of your life. Posting you are skiving work, who you are sleeping with, or doing something shameful is just dumb.

Phone number-Unless you want to be bombarded with unsolicited phone calls from people trying to sell you something - don't.

Children's names-These can be used by identity fraudsters or, more sinisterly, by paedophiles. It is much easier to steal a child's identity. An adult will eventually discover something is wrong by, for example, their credit rating being affected. Children won't.

Don't post a full public profile-It won't just exist on Facebook, it will go on any internet search such as Google. Only give the bare bones such as a name. Keep everything else private. (ANI)

STATUS OF ENGINEERING COLLEGE STUDENTS

Hi friends
Are we in the right directions related to engineering education in the state ? i dont think so
With no entrance examination to admit students in professional colleges the mathematical aptitude of the students is coming down terribly .

It is also sad to see some of the top IT companies have decided to not to conduct the aptitude test for higher marks students during the recruitment is also not in the right directions .

Even our engineering education is becoming school education with college giving importance to the marks rather than the knowledge /

Many time we have seen students are preparing themselves only for the examination point of view rather than knowledge point of view while doing there engineering degree

I think top companies should make the students realize that it is not only important to have marks but also to have good mathematical and verbal , logical reasoning ability to perform well in the career

in today's Times of India paper has reveled the following , which is very shocking

More than 420 students, pursuing second year Bachelors of Engineering (BE) degree programmes in a college (name withheld) in TN, who were recently given a basic mathematics test comprising 20 simple questions on algebra and trigonometry were unable to get even 50% of the answers right.
What provides telling evidence of the poor quality of math education at the school level is that seven of these students had actually scored over 180 marks in mathematics in the class XII state board examinations but they secured zero in the basic test given by the college. They were unable to answer simple questions like “What is the Factorial of 5” and “What is e to the power of 0 or e to the power of infinity”.
“This shows the status of our engineering college students. Of the 503 students who took the test, only 6 were able to correctly answer 15 or more questions. While 70 students got a score of 11 to 15; as many as 241 of them were not able to answer more than 10 questions and 154 of them got the correct answers for just five questions or below. The remaining 32 secured zero,” Tamil Nadu commissioner for technical Kumar Jayant revealed.
The test was given by the college to assess the mathematical skills of its students and the directorate of technical education is now urging other colleges to conduct similar assessment tests to gauge the knowledge of the students.
The college concerned had 70 students who had secured 180 marks and above in mathematics in
the state board examinations. Of them, only two answered 15 or more questions correctly.
“Any class XI student must be able to solve most of the problems asked. They were simple and direct questions. The results only indicate that at the school level the students had not understood the fundamentals and probably had mugged up,”

THIS SHOULD BECOME MANDATORY AND CAN BE EASILY BE DONE . ONCE THIS HAPPENS WITH EVERY GROUP , A DATABASE AT THE INSTITUTE LEVEL IS CREATED AND THIS PORTAL CAN BE LINKED TO THE CONCERNED UNIVERSITY AND ALSO TO AICTE PORTAL OR TO THE THIRD PARTY PORTAL.

AICTE COULD HARNESS PROJECTS FROM DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE COUNTRY AND THE DATA COULD ACCESSED BY ALL STAKEHOLDERS.
